Tailgate Recipes: Leap Year Cocktail
Today is Leap Day, which only happens every 4 years. Of course we need to celebrate! Especially because we gain an extra 24 hours. We all need more time, right? I am ordering one of these tonight.
The Leap Year Cocktail was created in 1928, by Harry Craddock for celebrations at the Savoy Hotel in London.
1 1/2 ounces gin
1/4 ounce sweet vermouth
1/4 ounce Grand Marnier
Dash lemon juice
3 or 4 ice cubes
Twist lemon peel
Combine all ingredients, except the peel, in a shaker and stir well. Strain into a cocktail glass, twist peel over the drink to release the oil, and then drop in the peel. Cheers!
